The Seven Pillars of Wisdom ~ Part 1 ~ Fear of Yahuah is The Beginning of Wisdom

“Behold,  the fear of Yahuah, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”

This week we continue into our study on the subject of the Seven Pillars of Wisdom as listed in Proverbs 8. Last week we saw how in the Book of Proverbs, Solomon often uses the metaphor of a woman to depict “wisdom” speaking to and warning mankind.

Wisdom is actually a metaphor of Yahuah’s divine wisdom and it is personified as a woman. She is depicted as speaking in the first person to the children of men, of how important it is to seek the wisdom that is from above. She cries from the public square to all who pass by to forsake their foolishness. All who hearken to her words will be rewarded with incredible blessings for her wisdom teaches the way that leads to Yahuah and eternal life.

The Seven Pillars of Wisdom ~ Part 2 ~ Prudence

This week we continue in our study on the subject of the Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

Proverbs 9:1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars.

In the previous articles about wisdom, we saw how the metaphorical person, Wisdom, dwells with seven supporting pillars which each have a name.

Proverbs 8:12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 8:13 The fear of Yahuah is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. 8:14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

Solomon, in Proverbs, exhorts Yahuah’s people to incorporate the qualities that the seven pillars of wisdom represent; qualities that, we as Believers, should strive to build into our lives, just as a wise woman builds her house.

The Seven Pillars of Wisdom ~ Part 6 ~Sound Judgement

This week we look at the Pillar of Wisdom called “sound wisdom”, or as some translations put it “sound judgment”.

So far we have looked at Prudence, Discretion, Fear of Yahuah, and Counsel. We have come to see how each one of these pillars works in perfect harmony with all of the other pillars. Not one of these qualities of wisdom works without the support of the others; they overlap, they blend, and they complement. All of them together uphold Wisdom’s house.

Proverbs 9:1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
