The Cosmos According To The Bible

There are many Scriptures that seem to indicate certain things about the earth’s attributes and this study on the subject of Yahuah’s creation lists them accordingly. There are many verses that talk about certain properties of the earth and the heavens that present us with a quagmire if we take them literally, for they seem to defy modern day “scientific” evidence put out by the astronomers, geologists, scientists, and astrophysicists and even theologians.

When we study deeply into Yahuah’s Word and what He has to say, it raises many questions as to what really is what. Are the scientists lying to us about the shape of the earth and the fact that there is endless space and galaxies out there in “outer space”? There are many videos and documentaries in our modern age of Internet that give us clues as to what may be going on. Like the fact, that there are no real photos of the globe earth; they are either composites, artist’s renderings, photo-shopped, or CGI (same with planets and stars, etc..). This is explained in videos and articles if you Google “photo of the the blue marble globe earth is photo-shopped”. The presenters even expose that many things were cloned into the photos of the globe earth. It is a very compelling study and raises many questions.

I personally cannot prove to anyone with any kind of hard evidence that science or NASA is lying or that their vivid detailed photographs from “outer space” are real or just computer generated images. But there is much data out there if one will only take the time to research into these things and then one must weigh all the facts on their own.

Having said that, in spite of everything that this present world’s educators, philosophers, and scientists present to us, I am going to believe just what Yahuah says in His Word without adding or subtracting from it in order fit a preconceived worldview; a worldview and perception of the cosmos that has been taught to me all of my life. I am going to believe just what Yahuah says regardless of what the scientists or religious leaders tell us. Either the Bible is true, or it is not; we each have to decide if we truly believe what it says or not.

We live in an age of deception including the fact that our government lies to us in almost every arena; so it would not surprise me if the government and NASA are hiding certain other things as well.

Many clues that NASA scientists are lying to us about the history and the cosmology of the earth are coming out; and the fact that scientists and educators (as we all know) promote lies about the big bang theory and the evolution theory makes me wonder what else are they lying about. I am still somewhat confused about all this myself, especially as to how they have so successfully been able to pull this off. It is so complicated that for now I just want to focus my time and energy on learning all I can about what Yahuah has to say about all this and let the experts determine HOW NASA is putting out all this fake information, if indeed it is all a facade to deceive us.

But I can show Scriptures that tell us what Yahuah has to say about creation and how it was He who fashioned all that we see in the material world, including we ourselves. Some may say, well, those verses are all just metaphors; but where do we draw the line as to what is a metaphor and what isn’t? Each person will have to decide for themselves as to what constitutes a metaphor and what does not. No man is to determine for another man what his faith should be; we can only point to certain things and testify as to what we have come to believe and then give others the freedom to come to their own conclusions. Yahuah says that He will guide us into all truth, so that is what I pray for daily; and then seek to understand His Word by the power of His Ruach HaKodesh. The most important key is to strive to keep Yahuah’s commandments in all aspects of our lives for it is in the keeping of His commandments that we are given the understanding into the deep spiritual things of Yahuah.

Psalm 111:10 The fear of Yahuah is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Disciples of Yahuah are to look to His Word for truth, and not look to men:

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Could we include that our modern day scientists and philosophers are false prophets and false teachers when they teach us that the Bible is only myth and that only what can be proven by their biased scientific theories is true? And are we not denying Yahuah when we refuse to believe what He says in His Word, even if what He says seems to defy so-called scientific evidence? The Scriptures warn us against believing “oppositions of science falsely so called” and the teachings of false prophets.

1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Adding or Subtracting From Yahuah’s Word

Creation

What does the Bible have to say about the Creation of the Heaven and the Earth from the very beginning of chapter 1 of Genesis?

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good: and Elohim divided the light from the darkness.

5 And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And Elohim said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

The Genesis creation is quite straight forward if we would only read it without any preconceived notions about what it is saying. Genesis 1:1-31 gives the synopsis of the accounts that took place within the Creation Week when Elohim created the heavens and the earth. It is all very plain and makes perfect sense when we believe Yahuah at His word and refuse to try to fit the account according to the modern day mold that has been foisted upon the masses in our recent history.

We have a second and third witness in Exodus which states that Yahuah indeed created the heavens and the earth in six literal days!

Exodus 20:11 For in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Not only is the fact that Yahuah created the heavens and the earth in six days written in the Word of Elohim, but it is also written by Yahuah’s own finger onto the two Tables of Testimony which were made of stone.

Exodus 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of Yahuah.

In Genesis Chapter 2, Yahuah then sums up the fact that He created the heavens and earth in six literal days with His work being finished by the end of the sixth day, and the day after He rested on the seventh day “from all His work that He had made”. The seventh day, He calls the Sabbath, and we are to remember that He is the Creator of all things when we keep the Sabbath each week and that the material world was created and finished in six literal days. From the very beginning of creation, Yahuah set the Sabbath rest in motion for man to follow in His example.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day Elohim ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made. 4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that Elohim made the earth and the heavens,

This is the model that Yahuah set for us from the very beginning: That we are to work during the first six days of the week and then rest on the seventh day (which is called Yahuah’s Sabbath) just as Yahuah did during the creation week as a pattern for His children. Then there is the much deeper dual meaning that mankind will have six thousand years of laboring by his own works and under the rule of men who are contrary to the ways of Yahuah; when the six thousand years are up, Yahusha will return to earth and set up the Kingdom of Yahuah and then there will be a time of peace and rest from all man’s labors for one thousand years for the people of Yahuah. This is the Millennial Sabbath.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And Yahuah did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Yahusha had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of Yahuah. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as Yahuah did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with Yahuah as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

More Proof of a Young Creation

It was at the “beginning” of the creation that Adam and Eve were created. Yahusha says so. In the New Testament, Yahusha states that “from the beginning of the creation Yahuah made them male and female (Adam and Eve)”. We know that Adam and Eve lived approximately 6000 years ago from the early genealogies and the time chart contained in Scripture. And if they were created at the beginning of the creation, then the earth, moon, sun, stars are only approximately 6000 years old. Also note, that Yahusha said “the beginning of creation”, not “the re-creation” that supposedly took place millions (or billions) of years between verse 1 and 2 in Genesis 1.

Mark 10:2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. 3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. 5 And Yahusha answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation Yahuah made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

Matthew 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

The Greek word for “beginning” is arché (Strong’s #746) and means: beginning, origin.

Who Created the Heavens and the Earth?

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Psalm 102:25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.

Psalm 146:5 Happy is he that hath the Elohim of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahuah his Elohim: 6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

Isaiah 37:16 O Yahuah of hosts, Elohim of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the Elohim, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Yahuah, and the Word was Yahuah. 2 The same was in the beginning with Yahuah. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible Elohim, the cause of all creation: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Hebrews 1:1 Yahuah, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

There is nothing in Scripture that indicates that there was some kind of big bang that happened causing, all that we see in the physical world, come into existence on its own. Nowhere in Scripture does it remotely teach that living creatures and humans evolved from simple life forms, yet those are the lies that are taught in our grade schools, high schools, and universities. The “so-called” scientific theories of the big bang and evolution form the bedrock of the teachings of our day, and those who do not go along with the lies are mocked and ostracized and told that they are believers of myths and fairy tales.

Then there are those who try to blend the accounts of Genesis with the scientific theories. They try to fit what science says is evidence in order to match what is written in Elohim’s Word. Teachers of the “Gap Theory” suggest that perhaps the “days” of Genesis are not literal 24 hour days, but are only symbolic for undefined eons of time (perhaps millions or billions of years), in an attempt to weave the big bang theory and evolution into the creation account. When men do this, they do not believe what Genesis says and are actually saying that Genesis is incomplete as written in Scriptures and that basically Yahuah is a liar. Who are we to believe? Yahuah or modern day scientists and astrophysicists?

Romans 3:4 Yahuah forbid: yea, let Yahuah be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

And if the creation account in Genesis 1 cannot be taken literally, what prevents us from believing the next few chapters of Genesis that tell us that Adam and Eve were created by Yahuah and then they partook of the forbidden fruit thereby introducing sin into the world? And because of sin, Yahuah said that He would send a Savior, the first gospel mention is in Genesis 3.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

If we truly believe the Bible to be the inspired word of Yahuah, then there is only one conclusion possible. Creation took a literal six days, with Adam and Eve being created on the sixth literal 24 hour day with the seventh day designated as a day of rest. That seventh day, which Yahuah calls His Sabbath, stands as an eternal memorial and a sign for all mankind throughout all generations to the creation and that Yahuah is Creator of all. We are reminded of this memorial every week when we keep the Sabbath and as written within the Ten Commandments in Exodus:

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahuah Thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

So why are we to remember and keep the Sabbath of Yahuah on the seventh day?

Exodus 20:11 For in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

This verse validates that in the Genesis account of creation, the days were 24 hours long and that the week as we know it today is the same duration in time as was the creation week when Yahuah created the heavens and the earth just as He tells us in Genesis 1.

The Order of Creation

First Day

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And Elohim saw the light, that it was good: and Elohim divided the light from the

darkness.

5 And Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

In the first two verses of Genesis we are told that the heaven and earth were made; and if we just read it for what it says, this all it says! There is nothing about an original creation and then a period of millions (or billions) of years between the first two verses and a need for a re-creation because of the rebellion of Satan and his angels who supposedly destroyed the first creation.

Moses tells us that at first there was only water on the earth and darkness was upon it. What did the earth look like at that point? We don’t know; we are just told that it was without form and void and darkness was upon the deep waters. Then beginning in verse 3 and through the end of the chapter, we are told how Elohim then began to shape and fill the earth thereby completing His creation. He began the process of finishing His work by first creating “light” and then dividing the light from the darkness. He then divided the light from the darkness, in essence, creating the daytime and the nighttime which are the basic parameters of keeping time as we know it in our physical world. So after the heavens and the earth were created, Day and Night were created on the first day.

Second Day

Genesis 1:6 And Elohim said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And Elohim called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

On the second day Elohim created the Firmament which was to divide the waters that were above the earth from the waters that were below it. Again, this does not say what this looked like or how Elohim did this, just that this is what He did. It further states that He called the Firmament that He had made “Heaven”.

Third Day

Genesis 1:9 And Elohim said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And Elohim called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and Elohim saw that it was good.

11 And Elohim said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Apparently, there was only water on the earth under the Firmament at first, so on this day Elohim made the dry land to appear. Again, we are not told how He did that; either by making the waters recede to assigned recesses to form the seas, or possibly raising up certain areas of sea beds; we just are not told. We are told that after the land appeared, the surrounding waters were gathered to form the seas. Then Elohim made all forms of vegetation: plants, trees, fruit trees, grasses and herbs to cover the land.

In Psalm 24 David reiterates the fact that earth was founded (founded: yasad – (Strong’s #3245): to establish, found, fix) upon the waters (or the seas).

Psalm 24:1 The earth is Yahuah’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

Fourth Day

Genesis 1:14 And Elohim said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. (Note: the Hebrew word for light describing the sun and the moon is maor – which means luminaries or lights- maor Strong’s #3974)

17 And Elohim set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and Elohim saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

On the fourth day Elohim created the sun, moon and the stars and set them in (not above) the Firmament. The writer of Genesis then states that they were to be for signs, seasons, and for days and years; components that make up Yahuah’s calendar. Yahuah assigned the sun and moon to rule the Day and Night. So we see that all the lights in heaven (sun, moon, and stars) were not created until the fourth day of creation. The light that was created on the first day was not the sun for Yahuah clearly states that the sun (along with the moon and stars) were created on the fourth day. The Hebrew word for “made” means exactly that: to make, made. The writer of Genesis states very clearly that the sun, along with the moon and stars, were not made until the fourth day of Creation Week.

Fifth Day

Genesis 1:20 Elohim said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And Elohim created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after their kind and Elohim blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

On the fifth day Yahuah created all the sea animals that swim in the waters, and all the birds that fly in the open firmament of heaven which is the upper atmosphere directly above the earth.

Sixth Day

Genesis 1:24 And Elohim said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.

27 So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.

On the sixth day Yahuah created all the land animals, each after their own kind; and then Elohim said “let us make man in our image”. The creation of man was the grand finale of all His work for nothing else that Elohim created was in any way close to being something that was made in His very image. Elohim created the man and the woman in His image and then He instructed them to exercise dominion over the earth and to be stewards of it; and also to care for the rest of the creatures that He had made.

What was the method that Elohim created the first man, Adam? The only clue is in Genesis 2:7 which says: “And Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

If we believe that Yahuah formed the man out of the dust of the ground and made him come to life by breathing into his nostrils the breath of life, and if we take Yahuah at His Word when it comes to this aspect of His creation (and that this verse is literal and not a metaphor) then why is it so hard for men to believe the other events that took place in the Creation Week including the order in which they were made just as stated by the writer of Genesis?

Genesis 1:29 And Elohim said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Genesis 1 concludes the Creation account by stating that the herb bearing plants and fruit bearing trees were given to the man and woman to provide them with the food they would need. The vegetation on earth would also be used as food to feed the rest of all the living creatures that Yahuah had made.

Then in verse 31 at the end of the sixth day when Yahuah’s work was finished, He saw EVERYTHING that He had made and declared it to be VERY GOOD!

Everything was finished and everything was perfect.

Genesis 1:31 And Elohim saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The Bible teaches us that Elohim/Yahuah created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them for His own glory. The story of the Bible shows us that Yahuah desires to have children made into His image that He might share His life and all that He has with them. The creation of all these things demonstrates Yahuah’s great glory, His love, grace, mercy, wisdom, power, goodness, and that He is Almighty Elohim; Creator of all things, including, we, ourselves.

During the Six Day Creation Week we are told what Elohim created on each day, but we are not given many other details of the creation. No human being was present at the time to witness what it was like; only the Father and the One who would become His Son, plus all the angels were witnesses to the things that took place at that time. If Elohim thought it was important for us to know all the details of creation, surely He would have included those things in the narrative. The important thing is to know that Elohim is the Creator of heaven and earth and everything contained in them (that includes you and I) and that He has a great PLAN for all mankind. Under the inspiration of the Ruach of Yahuah Paul declared:

Acts 17:24 Yahuah who made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Ruler of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek Him, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Three Levels of Heaven

Scriptures speak of three different heavens that are distinct and unique from each other. The created heavens are physical heavens and are part of creation (Genesis 1:7-8, 20). But the third heaven which is spoken of in Scriptures is spiritual. Paul referred to the third heaven as the Paradise of Yahuah (where Yahuah dwells).

The first heaven is the earth’s atmosphere where the birds and airplanes fly. Genesis spoke of this heaven and the place where the birds fly just above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Genesis 1:20 And Elohim said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

The second level of heaven is where Elohim has placed the sun, moon and stars;

Genesis 1:14 And Elohim said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

The third heaven is where Yahuah’s throne is located. Mankind, being physical, is incapable of imagining what this heaven is like except for the brief descriptions of it from the prophets and apostles.

2 Corinthians 12: 3 I knew a man in Messiah above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: Yahuah knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Deuteronomy 10:14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is Yahuah’s thy Elohim, the earth also, with all that therein is.

Psalm 2:4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: Yahuah shall have them in derision.

Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Revelation 4:14 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus saith Yahuah, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

The Firmament

Genesis 1:6 And Elohim said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And Elohim called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

What is a firmament? In this passage Yahuah simply says that the firmament divided the waters that were above the firmament from the waters that were below the firmament. Yahuah called the firmament “heaven”. So we know that it was something that Yahuah created and that it was strong enough to divide the waters from above it from the waters that were below it.

From Easton’s Bible Dictionary – Firmament: “Firmament [N] [S] from the Vulgate firmamentum, which is used as the translation of the Hebrew raki’a . This word means simply “expansion.” It denotes the space or expanse like an arch appearing immediately above us. They who rendered raki’a by firmamentum regarded it as a solid body. The language of Scripture is not scientific but popular, and hence we read of the sun rising and setting, and also here the use of this particular word. It is plain that it was used to denote solidity as well as expansion. It formed a division between the waters above and the waters below ( Genesis 1:7 ). The raki’a supported the upper reservoir ( Psalms 148:4 ). It was the support also of the heavenly bodies ( Genesis 1:14 ), and is spoken of as having “windows” and “doors” (Genesis 7:11 ; Isaiah 24:18 ; Malachi 3:10) through which the rain and snow might descend.

The vault of heaven is a crucial concept. The word “firmament” appears in the King James version of the Old Testament 17 times, and in each case it is translated from the Hebrew word raqiya, which meant the visible vault of the sky. The word raqiya comes from riqqua, meaning “beaten out.” In ancient times, brass objects were either cast in the form required or beaten into shape on an anvil. A good craftsman could beat a lump of cast brass into a thin bowl. Thus, Elihu asks Job, “Can you beat out [raqa] the vault of the skies, as he does, hard as a mirror of cast metal? ”(Job 37:18)

Elihu’s question shows that the Hebrews considered the vault of heaven a solid, physical object. Such a large dome would be a tremendous feat of engineering. The Hebrews (and supposedly Yahuah Himself) considered it exactly that, and this point is hammered home by five scriptures:”

If the verses pertaining to the firmament are about just an expanse of space or a mere illusion of a vault, then why does it speak of it as a firm physical object? . Shamayim comes from shameh, a root meaning to be lofty. It literally means the sky. There are other passages which complete the picture of the sky as a lofty, physical dome. Yahuah “sits throned on the vaulted roof of earth [chug], whose inhabitants are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the skies [shamayim] like a curtain, he spreads them out like a tent to live in…” (Isaiah 40:22).

Chug literally means “circle” or “encompassed.” By extension, it can mean roundness as in a rounded dome or vault. Job 22:14 says Yahuah “walks to and fro on the vault of heaven [chug].” In both verses, the use of chug implies a physical object, on which one can sit and walk. Likewise, the context in both cases requires elevation. In Isaiah, the elevation from where Yahuah sits causes the people below to look small as grasshoppers. In the Book of Job, Yahuah’s eyes must penetrate the clouds to view the doings of humans below. Elevation is also implied by Job 22:12: “Surely Yahuah is at the zenith of the heavens [shamayim] and looks down on all the stars, high as they are”.

Four Corners of the Earth

The Earth is Set On Pillars

Job 9:5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger. 6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

Foundation Of Heaven and Earth

The Earth is Fixed and Cannot Be Moved

Circle of the Earth

The Hebrew word for circle in this verse is “chug”. (Strong’s #2328) chug: to draw around, make a circle From chuwg; Strong’s #2328 a circle — circle, circuit, compass. see HEBREW chuwg (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance)

Another place this word “chug” is used is in Proverbs 8:27. In Proverbs Wisdom is speaking and she says that Yahuah set a compass (chug- a circle) upon the face of the deep.

Proverbs 8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass [chug] upon the face of the depth:

Job 26:10 He hath compassed [chug -to describe a circle – compass] – the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

Job 22:14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit [chug – vault, circle) of heaven.

The writer of Isaiah 40:22 could have used another Hebrew word if he wanted to indicate that the earth is a ball, but he didn’t. He used the word [chug] for circle. Isaiah uses a different Hebrew word for another kind of circle in Isaiah 22:17. Here he uses “dur” the Hebrew word that indicates a ball (which is a sphere). If the earth is a globe we have to ask why didn’t Isaiah use this word in Isaiah 40:22?

Isaiah 22:17 Behold, Yahuah will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee. 18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball [dur] into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.

The Waters

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.

Genesis 1:6 And Elohim said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Yahuah’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

The Shape of the Earth

What does the Bible say about the shape of the earth? The flatness of the earth’s surface seems to be required by verses like Daniel 4:10-11. In Daniel, the king “saw a tree of great height at the center of the earth…reaching with its top to the sky and visible to the earth’s farthest bounds.”

If the earth was a globe, this would bee impossible, but if the earth really is flat, a sufficiently tall tree would make it possible to view “the earth’s farthest bounds”.

Likewise, in describing the temptation of Yahusha by Satan in Matthew 4, verse 8 says, “Once again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world [cosmos] in their glory.” Common sense tells us that this would be only possible if the earth were flat (it would be impossible if the earth is a ball). The same is true of Revelation 1:7: “Behold, he is coming with the clouds! Every eye shall see him…” How could every eye see Him if the earth is a spinning globe?

What about the curvature of the earth? If the earth was a sphere we would NOT be able to see mountains, ships, coast lines from miles and miles away for they would disappear because of the curvature of the earth, but this is not the case. When ships disappear over the horizon, they come back into view with a telescope or zoom of a camera. When pilots are interviewed in regard to how they deal with the curvature of the earth, they admit that they do not have to accommodate any curvature or make any allowances for it when flying.

Daniel 4:10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great. 11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

And what about the all the pictures of the globe? I have learned that there really are no real photos of a globe earth. The ones we have are not consistent in their details of the continents (sizes and shapes) and we are told that they are composites of many photos, are photo-shopped and/or are artist’s renditions. Even the NASA artist that put together the Blue Marble Globe admits that it is a composite and that he photo-shopped it while adding colors and images to it.

Earth Has Boundaries

Job 26:10 He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

Motion of the Sun and Moon

The sun, moon and stars are set into (not above) the firmament. That is why Isaiah could say that Yahuah’s throne is above the stars (above the vault) and why Joshua could ask Yahuah to stop the sun moving in the vault to give him more time to conquer his enemy.

Joshua 10:12 Then spake Joshua to Yahuah in the day when Yahuah delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that Yahuah hearkened unto the voice of a man: for Yahuah fought for Israel.

Psalm 19:4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

Psalm 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.

Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

Isaiah 38:7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from Yahuah, that Yahuah will do this thing that he hath spoken; 8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.

Habakkuk 3:11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.

Yahuah Gave Man Dominion of the Earth, Not the Heaven (What we Think of as Outer Space)

Genesis 1:26 And Elohim said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Why Does it Matter What We Believe About the Creation?

Proverbs 4:2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

Isaiah 29:23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the Elohim of Israel. 24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of Yahuah.

John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, [who is believed to be the writer of the first five books of the Bible including Genesis] ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

We have to ask: is not Genesis 1 the doctrine of Elohim? Is this not the words of Yahusha in describing how He created the world and everything in it? Why do most Christians say that they believe the Bible but cannot believe that the book of Genesis gives us the true account of creation and the history of the earth? Or are we to believe modern day scientists and astrophysicists that say that everything that exists in the world, including mankind and all life forms, is a result of the big bang explosion, random mutation and evolution? If scientists lie to us about these things, what else are they lying to us about?

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain Yahuah in their knowledge, Yahuah gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of Yahuah, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of Yahuah, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Do we believe Yahuah’s Word? or do we believe modern day pseudo science? Most of our science has become the false religion of our day.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called Elohim, or that is worshipped; so that he as Elohim sitteth in the temple of Yahuah, shewing himself that he is Elohim. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom Yahusha shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2 Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause Yahuah shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Paul told the Thessalonians that “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work…” so even in his day we know that error was creeping into the Ekklesia and that he and the other apostles had to fight against false teachers and their false doctrines at every turn. We read of their warnings in just about every epistle, such as 2 Peter 3, 2 John, and Jude.

Could it be that Satan began to influence the great men of the time about 500 years ago to deceive the masses into thinking that the Bible is not true and that the earth and the heaven came into existence on their own and that man is descended from apes? There was a massive shift in thinking with the new teachings that came from Copernicus, Galileo, Darwin, Newton, etc. and all the great philosophers (which gave rise to our modern day thought) who have lived since, and who were able to persuade the people that there is no Elohim and we must believe them and their theories, not the Bible, who try to tell us: “it is unscientific, therefore it has to be a myth”. In our day those who believe what Yahuah says are ridiculed and persecuted. If there are scientists who admit to NOT believing in evolution and the Big Bang theory, they most assuredly will loose their jobs, be denied promotions and credentials, and will be mocked.

All this grand delusion has helped to produced this end time evil godless society we live in and will culminate in even bigger delusion just before the coming of the Messiah. The people will be so deluded, they will think that Yahusha and His saints, when they come, are aliens from outer space. The armies will fight against them, for that is what they have been conditioned to believe from birth (that there are intelligent beings that are living in outer space that want to invade earth and take over the world). This is the mind-set of the beast and false prophet. The main astronomers and owners of the huge telescopes are owned by the Jesuits, and even the Vatican has its telescope named Lucifer. (There is much info on the Internet regarding these facts.)

Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Why does it matter what we believe about the creation and what Yahuah has to say about it in His Word? It is because if people do not believe the history and the creation account as laid out in the Bible, why would they believe and trust what Yahuah says about keeping His commandments and that we have need of a Savior to save us from our sins? Why would they take seriously anything the Bible has to say about how we are to live and that as mere men and women we can be redeemed and have life everlasting as a member of Yahuah’s divine Family?

Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Here are some excerpts from a book written in 1901 (I found this fascinating in light that it was written over one hundred years ago and from hind sight we see it is a prediction of what would happen if men rejected the Word of Elohim to embrace the atheistic worldview of (pseudo) science. This man tried to warn us in 1901!

Conclusion

We might ask: “But aren’t there more important issues to deal with in today’s world; such as war, crime, abortion, family breakdown, racism, promiscuity, dishonesty, homosexual behavior, lawlessness, pornography, and so on? Shouldn’t we just concentrate on preaching the gospel of Yahusha, not worrying about peripheral issues, like the time frame of creation and the shape of the earth?”

Why does all this teaching about the creation of the heavens and earth and how they really work MATTER? It matters because if we accept scientists’ theories of evolution and the big bang theory, and that man is able to travel in the far reaches of the universe (beyond the firmament), then that necessitates that the Bible’s account of creation and all of its attributes are false and that the Bible is nothing more than a storybook of myths.

If the Bible is wrong in Genesis and elsewhere throughout the Scripture in regard to the creation and the characteristics of that creation, then it is not a reliable source that can be trusted to tell us how we ought to live and that we need the Messiah to save us and to help us find the WAY that leads to salvation.

If what the scientists and the great philosophers of our day teach: that everything made itself through natural processes, that means that there really is no Creator, and if there is no Creator, then Yahuah does not exist. That means there is no Being that has any authority over us, whatsoever, and we can do as we please; concepts of right and wrong have no bearing, and those who say that there is a Creator Elohim and that He has absolute laws that should be obeyed, are mocked and persecuted and told that they are crazy.

If the elitists and powers-that-be can convince us that there is no Creator, then there is no definitive basis for any kind of morality; and the concept of right and wrong is just a matter of each person’s opinion and that there is no such thing as sin. If there is no such thing as sin, then mankind does not need to repent and seek forgiveness for sin; therefore there is no need for a Savior, nor is there any need for the Messiah to come back to this earth and set up a righteous kingdom. We see this kind of thinking everywhere we look in our modern age, it permeates society! And it is getting worse every day with every kind of perversion and insanity taking over the world!

The scientism of our day that is being taught, that denies the Word of Elohim as truth, is all part of the grand delusion that Paul warns about in 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12. It is time that Yahuah’s people wake up and realize how deep the deception is that has indoctrinated the whole world and to come out of it, to come out from it’s influence and belief system. (Revelation 18:4, 23).

Question everything and prove to yourself what is really the truth according to what Yahuah says, and not according to what the “great philosophers” have taught down through the ages. The understanding of the Genesis account of Creation is vital for properly understanding the whole plan of Yahuah and why we need to seek Him and His Way, repent, and be forgiven of our sins that we might live forever with Yahuah in His divine Family.

I praise Him and am so grateful for revealing the truth of the cosmos and creation to me (and so many others as well) over these past few years; it is truly freeing and I am in awe of His love for us that He is now revealing these things to those who are genuinely seeking His truth.

When Adam and Eve disobeyed Yahuah and took of the forbidden fruit, they brought upon themselves the death penalty, not only for themselves, but for all their children that would come after. Because sin incurs the death penalty, mankind is in desperate need of a Savior. Yahusha HaMashiah, (who also happens to be our Creator) is the only one who can provide salvation by the means of His sacrificial blood shed on our behalf that lifts the death penalty when we repent and turn to Him for the forgiveness of our sins. This opens the door to a life long commitment to follow Him; and if we stay faithful to Him to the end of our lives, we will have eternal life in the Family of Yahuah.

When mere mortal carnal men attempt to blend evolution into the creation account as told in the Bible, they, in reality, subvert the very foundation of the Gospel message and want to make themselves Elohim. They (by their man-devised theories of what they think happened) are actually denying that Yahuah’s Word is true and that it is a trustworthy source of all knowledge. If we believe the whole Bible, then we believe that the creation account as laid out in Genesis, is the absolute truth; we also believe that the events that occurred soon after reveal to us how sin came into the world through our first parents invoking the death sentence upon all mankind.

But all was not lost, for then Yahuah promised that He would send a Savior, which would provide a way out of that sentence through the life and death of a future One (Seed of the woman) who would offer mankind the hope of salvation through His own death for all who would turn to Him with all their hearts and live His Way through all eternity.

So after considering all that is written in Yahuah’s own Word, how can the Big Bang Theory and the Theory of Evolution be true? How could followers of Yahuah promote and endorse these theories to explain the existence of our material world, or even try to blend them into the creation account? It’s ludicrous to try to do so! Modern day scientists’ explanation for Yahuah’s creation comes from their own imagination, which, of course, is an absurd lie.

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in Yahuah than to put confidence in man.

1 John 5:19 And we know that we are of Yahuah, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our Yahuah shall stand for ever.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Psalm 24:1 The earth is Yahuah’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with Yahuah. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, Yahuah knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Job 11:6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that Yahuah exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. 7 Canst thou by searching find out Yahuah? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection? 8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? 9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. 10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him? 11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Yahuah our Elohim: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

It is time to realize just how much mankind has been deceived throughout the generations even in our time of advanced technology and supposed enlightenment; and then come out of her (Babylon) my people.
